🇨🇲 Former Cameroon Striker Fabrice Olinga Attacks André Onana on Snapchat: “You’re Hurting People in the Dark Who Opened Their Doors for You”

Tensions within the Cameroonian football community have erupted once again, this time involving former national team striker Fabrice Olinga and current Indomitable Lions goalkeeper André Onana. In a surprising and fiery Snapchat outburst, Olinga launched a scathing attack on Onana, accusing him of betrayal, spiritual manipulation, and even threatening consequences if the alleged attacks on Olinga’s family continue.

The emotional tirade came with deeply personal and cryptic undertones, indicating a severe fallout between the two players. Olinga, once hailed as a prodigy for scoring in his national team debut at just 16, did not mince words in addressing his grievances.

“You’re hurting people in the dark that opened their doors for you and you think you’re triumphing in the light,” Olinga wrote. “Onana, I told you last time to pray a lot. You’ll tell your parents what’s happening to you. I warned, but you didn’t listen.”

The reference to “hurting people in the dark” seems to suggest that Olinga believes Onana is undermining or betraying those who once supported him behind the scenes. The tone of the message carries spiritual and possibly even metaphysical implications, as Olinga accuses Onana of engaging in “cult stories” and “taking the energies of others.”

“Your cult stories where you take the energies of others will stop. You chose the wrong enemy Andrew,” he added. “When someone wants to attack my family, I am capable of the worst and a pity for you.”

Such strong language has shocked fans and stirred controversy within Cameroon and the broader football world. While André Onana, currently playing for Manchester United and still Cameroon’s number-one keeper, has not responded publicly to the accusations, the dramatic nature of Olinga’s posts has left many questioning the backstory and severity of the rift.

This is not the first time Onana has been the center of internal friction. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, he was sent home by manager Rigobert Song after a reported disagreement over tactics and behavior. That incident painted a picture of a complex figure, highly talented but not without controversy.

Fabrice Olinga, now playing at a much lower profile than his early promise suggested, may be feeling disillusioned with the direction of Cameroonian football and those who rise within it. Whether these accusations stem from a personal falling out, jealousy, or genuine concern remains to be seen, but the spiritual language used—referencing prayer, energies, and cult-like behavior—implies a deeper, more psychological or religious dimension.

Some observers suggest that this feud could reflect broader issues within the national team setup, where power struggles, ego clashes, and politics often bubble beneath the surface. In Cameroon, as in many footballing nations, players are seen not just as athletes but as cultural and sometimes spiritual symbols. Accusations of cultism or spiritual manipulation can carry significant weight and be taken very seriously by the public.

Football fans have been quick to react online, with some siding with Olinga, claiming Onana has grown too arrogant, while others defend the goalkeeper and question Olinga’s motives. Without concrete evidence or further clarification from either party, the situation remains mired in speculation and drama.

Whether this Snapchat rant was a moment of emotional outburst or the beginning of a larger feud, one thing is clear: the fractures within Cameroonian football personalities are once again playing out on the public stage. For a country with rich footballing history, such disputes risk overshadowing the talent and unity the Indomitable Lions have long been known for.

As fans await a response from André Onana, many are left wondering what truly happened between these two former teammates—and how much deeper this story goes.
