In a move sure to excite volleyball fans around the globe, VBTV has announced it will offer free access to its streaming platform on World Volleyball Day. The initiative is part of a wider effort to grow the sport’s global reach and to give both longtime followers and curious newcomers a chance to enjoy top-tier volleyball content without any barriers.

World Volleyball Day, celebrated every year on July 20, is an international event dedicated to promoting the sport’s positive impact on communities and individuals. The day is marked by grassroots tournaments, clinics, charity matches, and various promotional activities in different parts of the world. By unlocking its premium content for free, VBTV aims to add a digital boost to the celebrations, ensuring that fans everywhere can join in regardless of where they are.

VBTV, the official streaming service for volleyball, has grown steadily since its launch, providing live coverage of major FIVB competitions including the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), the World Championships, and Olympic qualifiers. Beyond live matches, the platform also offers exclusive behind-the-scenes features, player interviews, match replays, highlights, documentaries, and classic games.

This special one-day open access will allow non-subscribers to experience the full breadth of what VBTV has to offer. From watching star players in action to discovering inspiring stories of young talent rising through the ranks, fans will have a front-row seat to the sport’s biggest moments.

The FIVB President, Dr. Ary Graça, praised the initiative, calling it “a wonderful gift to our passionate community.” He added, “Volleyball is one of the most played and watched sports in the world, but we want to make it even more accessible. World Volleyball Day is about celebrating the power of volleyball to unite people. By opening VBTV for free, we hope millions more will connect with the game and be inspired to play.”

Volleyball federations and clubs are being encouraged to use this opportunity to organize watch parties and digital gatherings, especially in regions where access to live international volleyball can be limited. Schools and community sports centers may also use the day to introduce the sport to young athletes by streaming matches and highlights.

Fans who already subscribe to VBTV will benefit too, with the platform planning special live chats, interactive polls, and giveaways to mark the occasion. Social media channels will be buzzing with challenges, trivia, and fan engagement activities, amplifying the community spirit that defines World Volleyball Day.

The free access comes at a time when volleyball is enjoying renewed attention worldwide. The recently concluded Volleyball Nations League drew record viewership and generated viral moments, particularly with young audiences on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. With Paris 2024 on the horizon, the FIVB and its partners are keen to ride this momentum and attract new fans.

To enjoy the free access, users simply need to register on VBTV’s website or app on July 20. Once signed in, they will have full access for the day without needing to provide payment information or sign up for a subscription.

For many, this could be the perfect chance to catch up on missed matches, relive classic finals, or see their favorite stars in action — all while celebrating the sport that continues to inspire millions around the world.

As World Volleyball Day approaches, VBTV’s gesture is a reminder that at its heart, volleyball is about connection, teamwork, and bringing people together — whether on the court, in the stands,

or through a screen.
