Conor Gallagher out with Victor Osimhen one of three Chelsea signings in new-look line-up under Enzo Maresca

Chelsea look set to continue splashing the cash in the club's quest to return to the Champions League and fight for major titles.

The Blues forked out around £600million on new signings in 2023, and have already spent over £50m this window.

Midfielder Kieran Dewsbury-Hall has followed new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca to Stamford Bridge from Leicester in a £30m deal.

And the west Londoners paid Aston Villa £19m to bring teenage starlet Omari Kellyman to the club.

That is in addition to securing the services of 18-year-old forward Marc Guiu from Barcelona after activating his £5.07m release clause.

Meanwhile, they managed to sign centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer after he decided to run his contract down at rivals Fulham.

And there are likely to be more incomings at Chelsea, who remain keen to bolster their attack, with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen known to be of interest.

However, they know they may have to cash in on some of the club’s academy graduates to help fund their summer business, with Ian Maatsen already sold to Villa in excess of £35m.

Meanwhile Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja are also facing uncertain futures.

Here talkSPORT.com takes a look at how Chelsea could line up under Maresca next season in his preferred 4-1-2-3 formation.

Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic shared goalkeeping duties last season, with the duo playing 21 and 31 games respectively.

But while former boss Mauricio Pochettino preferred Petrovic in the second half of the campaign, it has been claimed Maresca will put his faith in Sanchez.

The Telegraph have stated that the Spaniard is set to be the club’s No1 choice, despite him not featuring in the Premier League since December 2023.

As for the right-back position, skipper Reece James will slot into the team once he serves his three-match suspension at the start of the campaign.

The England international picked up a red card away at Brighton in Chelsea’s penultimate game of last campaign, with his second dismissal seeing him banned for four games.

Featuring on the opposite side of defence will likely be Marc Cucurella, who was one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers in their late charge in securing sixth place.

Centre-back Wesley Fofana, who arrived from Leicester in 2022 in a deal worth up to £75m, could be eased back into the team after missing the whole of last season due to a knee injury.

This would see Levi Colwill partner Adarabioyo in the heart of defence, with Benoit Badiashile, Axed Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah limited to back-up roles.

Maresca may then decide to deploy a lone defensive midfielder, with Moises Caicedo tasked with the No6 role.

Enzo Fernandez would then feature in his preferred box-to-box role, with Dewsbury-Hall selected as the left-sided No8 should Gallagher be offloaded.

Cole Palmer would then feature on the right wing following a sensational first season in the capital.

The 22-year-old chipped in with 25 goals and 15 assists for Chelsea – earning him a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

Mykhailo Mudryk could then start ahead of Raheem Sterling on the left wing, with the Ukrainian showing glimpses of why he cost £88.5m.

And leading the line could be Nigeria international Osimhen should Chelsea reach an agreement with Napoli.

With just one year left on his deal in Italy, it is expected that the 25-year-old will be sold by the Serie A giants.

Chelsea are known to be long-term admirers of Osimhen, who has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League one day.

This could be how Chelsea look under Maresca next season
