Nieto’s bond with Real Madrid began in 1931, when he became a socio as a young boy, just 7 years old. At that time, the club was still decades away from becoming the global powerhouse it is today. Throughout generations of footballing change, triumph, and transformation, Sergio Nieto remained a constant. He witnessed the club’s humble beginnings, its domination in the 1950s led by Alfredo Di Stéfano and Francisco Gento, the glory of the Galácticos era, and the modern dynasty built under Florentino Pérez’s leadership.
Real Madrid released an official statement expressing deep sorrow and gratitude for Nieto’s extraordinary commitment. “The club wishes to express its condolences and affection to all his family and loved ones.
