The UNC basketball program’s coaching staff didn’t get the opportunity to watch Class of 2025 four-star Nikolas Khamenia this weekend, as he was competing in Wichita on the Puma circuit, but that didn’t stop them from extending an offer to him shortly after the weekend came to a close.

Khamenia confirmed on social media that he has received an offer from the UNC basketball program. The 6-foot-8 forward currently holds offers from the likes of Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, St. John’s and Stanford (among others).
North Carolina has been reaching out to Khamenia since January, as an offer has finally come his way. There’s been plenty of interest but the official offer seems to be that statement that the Tar Heels are now heavily invested in his recruitment.
While competing for BTI Basketball Club this weekend, Khamenia led his team to a perfect 5-0 record. He put together some huge performances during that span, as his best outing was a 36-point performance against SA Future.

Currently, Khamenia ranks as a top-40 prospect in the Class of 2025 (according to 247Sports Composite), as he holds down the No. 36 overall spot in the rankings. He is also viewed as the fourth-best prospect coming from the state of California, as his recent play has suggested that he could be one of the high-rising prospects that this class has to offer.
The players the UNC basketball program have extended offers to all seem to very nicely fit the style of play that Hubert Davis likes to deploy. Khamenia is a player who could fill the “stretch four” position for the UNC basketball program, as his competitive fire, toughness and offensive ability (especially with regard to stretching the floor) are all things that make him an ideal fit in Chapel Hill.
North Carolina has been heavily focused on the Class of 2025, as the past weekend put them into the mix for a handful of the class’ standout players. With a wide net of offers on the table, we’ll have to wait and see which players decide to call Chapel Hill their future home.
