The Athletic have reported that Chelsea are “highly motivated” to offload Romelu Lukaku, Malang Sarr and Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer, with several other players also up for sale.
The Blues have been busy in the window and have already made five signings, with Renato Veiga set to complete his move from Swiss side FC Basel this week and become the sixth addition.
However, it’s not just about incomings at Stamford Bridge, and despite the sales of Ian Maatsen, Michael Golding and Omari Hutchinson the Blues are still looking to move a host of names on.
Chelsea desperate to sell Lukaku, Kepa and Sarr
Whilst the sales of Maatsen and Hutchinson last month erased any lingering doubts the club wouldn’t comply with profit and sustainability rules, the Blues are now turning their attention to making sure they are compliant for next year.
The Athletic state that the club are “highly motivated” to sell Lukaku, Arrizabalaga and Sarr whilst the likes of Armando Broja, Cesare Casadei, David Datro Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah are also candidates to depart Stamford Bridge.
In the case of Lukaku, Kepa and Sarr they are also high earners and more than getting a good fee, Chelsea will be happy to get their wages off the books.
Sarr has been exiled from all first team activities and a solution over his future will surely be reached this summer, even if it means Chelsea pay off the last year of his contract so he can leave on a free.
Kepa spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, and he too only has a year left on his contract, with the Blues unlikely to get a decent fee for him, and the Spaniard is believed to have an offer from Saudi club Al-Ittihad on the table.
Lukaku’s return has been a nightmare and the Belgian has spent the last two seasons on loan at Inter and Roma with Chelsea desperate for a permanent departure this summer.
The Belgium international is attracting interest from Napoli and the Saudi Pro League, and the Blues are expecting any potential suitors to pay the full £38m exit clause.
