Duke senior Andrew McAdorey is among the 23 men’s lacrosse players invited to a training camp at USA Lacrosse Headquarters for the U.S. sixes team as USA Lacrosse begins the build-up to the 2028 LA Olympics.
The camp will be held from June 10-12 and will feature a public session on Tuesday, June 11 at 4 pm with no admission charge.
A versatile offensive player, McAdorey led Duke’s first midfield unit with 28 goals and nine assists for 37 points this past season to earn USILA All-America first team honors. He scored at least a point in 18 of 19 games in 2024 and registered at least one goal in 16 of those.
Returning to midfield after one season at attack, McAdorey did not miss a beat this year, scoring multiple goals in eight games and finishing the ACC slate with six goals and one assist for seven points. He captured his first All-ACC honor as a junior. The St. Anthony product has started all 55 games in his career and has 87 goals and 50 assists for 137 points.
Andy Shay, the head men’s lacrosse coach at Yale, is back for his second stint working with the U.S. men’s sixes program. Shay led the U.S. sixes team to silver medal at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Ala. He will be assisted by Tony Resch, a former champion player and coach with the U.S. team who also has an extensive record of success in professional lacrosse.
This will be the only training camp for the sixes team before a camp just ahead of the inaugural USA Lacrosse Experience in Indianapolis from Oct. 11-12, 2024. The U.S. sixes team will play against international competition during that event.
