We’re officially 93 days away from the Carolina Panthers kicking off the 2024 NFL season against the New Orleans Saints. It will be their second consecutive road opener. Now it’s time for our annual roster countdown to highlight the players on the Panthers’ roster. Today, we’re taking a closer look at No. 93 — defensive end LaBryan Ray.
Ray is a defensive end/tackle with great size and athleticism to play the 3-4 defensive end or 4-3 defensive tackle roles, between a 3-tech and a 5-tech, in Ejiro Evero’s defense. He is a low stat player by design, but impressed coaches enough to earn a a one-year contract extension this offseason after signing with the Panthers last July. He recorded only one tackle in five games last season.
Prior to joining the Panthers, Ray was signed in 2022 as an undrafted free agent by the New England Patriots, spent the season the practice squad, and played last summer with the USFLs Philadelphia Stars. He won two college championships as a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
What do you expect to see from Ray this year, Panthers fans? Scroll on down to the comments and share your thoughts with us!
